All About Me

Hello and welcome!

My name is Rachael Spencer and I’m a kindergarten teacher at Centre Hall-Potter Elementary School. I grew up in State College and, naturally, went on to attend Penn State, where I earned my degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a focus in Public Policy. This is my second year in the Penns Valley Area School District, and I couldn’t be more happy to be part of such a close-knit community.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy unwinding with my favorite TV shows, spending time with my cat, Phoebe, and dreaming up my next travel adventure. I was fortunate to live in New Zealand for a period of time—a life-changing experience that sparked love for exploring new places. You’ll also often find me at the track, whether I’m coaching or lacing up my own running shoes for a workout!

Kindergarten is such a magical year, full of tremendous growth—academically, socially, and emotionally and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to guide our youngest learners through this important and exciting chapter of their lives.
