Hi!  My name is Kathy Wert.  This is my 28th year teaching.  My whole career has been with the Penns Valley Area School District.  I have taught kindergarten, first grade and now I am back home in second grade where my teaching career began.  Not only do I teach in Centre Hall, I live right on main street with my husband.  I have two children.  Rachel is a recent graduate of Gettysburg College working as an EMT/studying for Med School Exams and Gabriel is an electrician.  I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  Our family adopted a dog from Pets Come First a few years ago.  He looks a lot like a smaller version of Scooby Doo but he was already named Vince so we stuck with it!  When I am not in school teaching, you can find me sipping coffee and reading on my side porch or taking long walks around Centre Hall.
